COMMUNICATIONS
¡ The country code for Argentina
is 54. The area code for Buenos Aires is 11. You should
dial 54 + 11 + local number to call BA from outside of the
country.
¡ From Argentina, local
and long distance pay phones can be found everywhere, in
addition to the "locutorios", telephone company offices,
that are found all around the city. You can also buy pre-paid
cards and make a long distance call from any telephone.
¡ Cybercafes are very common
in Buenos Aires and have very fast and reliable connections.
URBAN TRANSPORTATION
¡ A complex public transportation
system makes travel easy throughout the city. There are
many bus lines, named "colectivos", that link the city's
neighborhoods and a subway system that links the main neighborhoods.
This public transportation costs AR$0.80 on average. You
may also take taxis or "remises", cars with a driver, both
are inexpensive. Subways run between 5 AM and 10 PM. Trains,
taxis, remises and buses 24 hours a day.
AIR SERVICES
¡ International flights
arrive at Ezeiza Airport, about 45 minutes from downtown.
It provides 24-hour airport bus service to downtown. Cab
services from the airport to downtown cost from AR$48.
¡ Domestic arrivals land
at Aeroparque Jorge Newbery, which is a 15 minutes cab drive
to downtown.

HYDROFOILS
¡ Hydrofoils and ferries
cross the Río de la Plata between Buenos Aires and Uruguay
several times a day.

BUSINESS HOURS
¡ The banks are open Monday
to Friday from 10 AM to 3 PM.
